General Information
The All Girls Math Tournament (AGMT) is a MATHCOUNTS-style math competition for girls in grades 3 to 8 that combines individual math competition with collaborative team activities. This in-person competition is held in Southern California, with satellite tournaments hosted all over the world. Each AGMT also features a keynote speaker who discusses the role and influence math and STEM have on their careers. AGMT is entirely separate from the All Girls Online Tournament, but has the same ideals and goals.
Registration
The tournament will take place in the spring of 2025! The main competition will be in Orange County, but we will also have satellite tournaments in other locations. We will post a registration link in early 2025. If you want to be notified, please email allgirlsmath@gmail.com.
Contest Information
- The tournament consists of three rounds (sprint, target, and team), combining individual math competition with collaborative team activities, each testing and challenging students’ knowledge, speed, and accuracy. It is a wonderful opportunity for students to engage in a friendly yet rigorous contest of mathematical skill with fun, original questions and an awards ceremony to recognize some of the top-scoring students!
- Every year, we invite a keynote speaker to talk about her experience in math and STEM, and how they have been crucial to her career. We hope hearing about the experiences of female leaders in these fields can inspire girls to pursue their interests in math!
- In addition, the tournament has had satellite tournaments all over California and the world in the past few years. While students at our main competition in Orange County take the tests, the same problems are being answered by participants all across the world! We hope to spread our mission not just to Orange County, but also to California and beyond.
